We’ve been talking about doing this for months. With the release of the new Kaleidescape Strato V Movie Player, we thought it was finally time to do it!

Everybody always talks about streaming quality, and there’s almost always an extra helping of hyperbole. “Streaming sucks! Discs are all I watch in my room!” Well, it’s time to put the hyperbole to the test TSRAV-style and do some subjective viewing and listening.

We know Kaleidescape is better, but how much better? How does the picture compare? How about the sound? How does it compare to Netflix? How about Apple? We’re going to dig in and see and hear the differences in our reference demo theater featuring the new JVC DLA-RS4200 and Panamorph Alpha anamorphic lens, 144-inch diagonal Stewart FilmScreen WallMask screen, Lumagen video processing, JBL Synthesis and Revel 9.1.6 Atmos system with Seaton Sound custom installation subwoofers JBL SDP-75 (Trinnov Altitude 32) processor , and of course the Kaleidescape Terra movie server and the new Strato V player.

Kris Deering of Deep Dive AV will be with us, Sammie  Matt Scarborough of Kaleidescape will be here, and of course most of the TSRAV team will be on-hand.

This is a small and informal get-together on Wednesday, August 21st. One night only! It’s a weeknight, so not one of our infamous weekend events. As such, space will be very limited, so if you’d like come, please let me know right away and I’ll add you to the list.
